David Clem is the Managing Partner of Lyme Properties. He is responsible for managing the regulatory process, the design team, project marketing, and lease negotiations. Lyme Properties successfully developed and leased over 3.0 million square feet of space.
Prior to founding the company in 1993, Mr. Clem was a principal of The Athenaeum Group, a real estate development company specializing in adaptive re-use projects in Cambridge, Massachusetts, including One Kendall Square. The Athenaeum Group developed and managed in excess of 1.5 million square feet of commercial real estate, including the first privately financed biotech laboratory space in Kendall Square.
Mr. Clem is a former member of the Cambridge City Council and was Chief of Staff to the Lt. Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, responsible for directing the State’s Office of Federal/State Relations. He has served on the boards of a number of non-profit institutions, advising on real estate and government relations matters.
Mr. Clem is currently a Trustee of Berklee College of Music, Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, and Harvard/MIT’s HST (Health, Science & Technology) Joint Program.

Angela McCanna is responsible for company communications, graphic design, marketing and accounting.
Ms. McCanna has been a member of the Lyme Properties team since 1999 and the Executive Assistant for David Clem since 2006.
Prior to joining Lyme Properties, Ms. McCanna was a corporate designer for Putnam Investments in Boston, Massachusetts.
